GitHub Actions runs workflows from a repository on GitHub. Every plan includes a monthly dollar allowance for hosted runners, from $12 on Free to $300 on Enterprise Cloud, and a Linux 2-core runner costs $0.006 a minute after that. Self-hosted runners and public repositories cost nothing today.

- Larger runners are billed even in public repositories.
- The allowance is in dollars, so minutes on macOS, Windows or larger runners use it up faster than Linux minutes.
- Self-hosted runners are free today, but GitHub announced and then postponed a $0.002 per minute charge for them.
